Annie Isenberg is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia, as well as a registered clinical supervisor in Texas and a Board Certified Diplomat in Clinical Social Work. She is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). Annie works as a therapist at Brickel and Associates, LLC in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia.
Annie has a collaborative and relational style of practice that is empathetic, nurturing and open. Practicing from a strengths-based perspective, Annie focuses on what resources clients have used to overcome adversity and builds upon these to increase resiliency and overall wellbeing. Annie also works to help clients pinpoint old maladaptive techniques to create healthier choices.
Annie has extensive experience providing treatment to military members and their families. She has strong experience in treating individuals (adolescents and adults), couples, families and groups suffering from the effects of trauma and works to empower individuals as they achieve safety and stabilization.
With experience providing therapy to diverse populations, Annie promotes transformative change from the wide reaching effects of abuse, domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, PTSD, depression, anxiety, relationship stress and family discord. Annie draws from a variety of treatment interventions including her training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mind-body awareness and other evidence based techniques to support client’s healing and growth.
