Annie practices from a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach to therapy that is empathetic, nurturing and transparent. Annie likes to focus on all of the resources clients already have and have used to overcome adversity and builds upon these assets to increase resiliency and overall wellbeing. Annie also works to help clients pinpoint old maladaptive coping techniques to increase awareness and create space to make healthier choices.
Annie has extensive experience providing treatment to diverse populations with strong experience in treating individuals, couples, families and groups suffering from the effects of trauma. She works diligently to join with and empower clients as they work to achieve safety, stabilization and ultimately healing.
Annie’s experienced in providing treatment for the specific effects of abuse, domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, PTSD, depression, anxiety, addiction, perinatal mood disorders, relationship stress and family discord. Annie has worked extensively with military members, their families and veterans.
Annie draws from a variety of treatment interventions including her EMDRIA approved training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mind-body awareness and other evidence based techniques that support client’s growth and healing.
Annie is passionate about her work and continues to expand her professional skills through continuing education and development. She has advanced training in perinatal mood disorders, and is working towards certification in maternal mental health. Annie is a registered EMDR therapist, and continues to seek regular consultation and education within the EMDRIA network.
