In this time of much fear, anxiety, and uncertainty, we remain committed to supporting all of our clients. Your mental and physical health is our utmost priority.
As we continue to navigate this COVID-19 health crisis, we want to provide a quick update on our office status.
While some local governments have begun a phased approach to reopen with restrictions, Brickel and Associates will continue to only provide virtual teletherapy through a HIPAA compliant video platform for now. We feel this continues to be the safest approach for both our clients and staff.
We plan to re-evaluate this decision regularly and will be in touch as our position changes and we feel it is safe to re-open to provide in-person therapy.
The staff and I are here to help your process your feelings from this pandemic and to provide helpful ways to manage stress, reduce anxiety, and develop essential self-care routines while at home, as well as continue the important healing work you have been doing all along with us.
Most importantly, we want everyone to stay healthy and get the emotional support that you need and deserve! We are all in this together and will continue to be here to support you, the best way we can! You are a priority to us!

To our current clients, all scheduled therapy session appointment times will remain in your currently scheduled time slots. It is our goal to provide continuity of care for you during this difficult time. At no time will we suspend providing clinical therapy services.
As we make this change, I want to assure you that we intend for this to be temporary. Virtual therapy is not our first choice either! Once we are able to return to the office, without risk to clients or staff, we will be so happy to welcome you back for in-person therapy sessions.
We understand how stressful the current climate can be, given the uncertainty and significant changes to daily routines. Our therapists continue to be here to help process these feelings and to provide helpful ways to manage and develop essential self-care alternatives while at home.

Teletherapy Consent Form
PLEASE complete the online teletherapy consent form, if you have not already done so, as soon as possible. Once you complete the form, it will be automatically uploaded to our system.
Reminders Around the Teletherapy Process
Brickel & Associates, LLC is using a HIPAA approved platform for teletherapy. We are providing instructions and screenshots to help guide you through the set-up process.
At the time of your appointment, we will send you an invitation, via email, to join the meeting and begin your session.
Please be sure to activate both the microphone and the camera before starting your session.
If there is a technical issue with the platform, your therapist will call you directly.
In order to ensure we have the most up to date contact information, please remember to provide your cell phone number on the consent form.
Payment for Teletherapy
As we are providing teletherapy and you are not coming to the office for sessions, we have connected with a service (Ivy Pay) to allow for electronic bill pay during this crisis. Once a teletherapy session is scheduled, Ivy Pay will send a text to your cell phone with a link to our temporary online system. As this is the only way to send you the information for the electronic bill pay, please remember to provide your cell phone number. Also, please attend to the payment before our virtual session. Otherwise, we will need time during our session in order for me to walk you through the process.
During this time of Teletherapy, once we receive a payment from the electronic payment company, showing your payment has cleared (likely a few days after you make the payment), if you would like we can send you an electronic statement of receipt via email to submit to your out of network mental health benefits if you are using them or we can mail you a statement of receipt as they are usually done about once/month or give those to you when we are back in the office seeing you in person again.
